My husband and I are local professors looking for someone to take over our lease while we are on leave during the 2018-2019 academic year. We're planning on moving out on August 22 and returning at the end of June, but would be open to considering an alternative timeframe. We are also considering leaving behind much of our furniture, if desired. We anticipate the rent being $1,200.
The house consists of 3 bedrooms complete with ceiling fans, 1 bathroom, a living room, a kitchen with modern appliances, and a dining room distributed across two stories. There are also an attic, a basement with washer and dryer, a spacious front porch, a backyard, a shared driveway, and a garage. Our fantastic landlord (a former professor) did an amazing job of renovating and maintaining the place. There are plenty of gorgeous ornamental touches, including a carpeted stairway, four stained-glass windows, and nearly pristine hardwood flooring.
Located on the 1700s block of Olive St, the house is just one block from beautiful Nay Aug Park and within walking and biking distance (we regularly rely on both) to the University of Scranton and downtown. There are plenty of University folks in the area and a real sense of community.
In short, there are lots of reasons why we want to return! For more information, please contact Aiala at aiala.levy@scranton.edu.
